Endodontics
Endodontics or root canal treatment is carried out on teeth where the nerve of the tooth has been damaged by decay or trauma.
This treatment may also be necessary prior to crowning a tooth. Root canal treatment involves the removal of the pulp tissue of a tooth when it becomes irreversibly inflamed or infected.
Debris within the canals is removed and the canals are cleaned and disinfected prior to being filled and sealed with a root filling. The tooth is then restored back to its full shape and function with a permanent filling or a crown.
