Invisalign® for Perfectly Straight Teeth
It is never too late to have a beautifully straight smile! Today’s modern orthodontic techniques are simple, fast and effective, and some appliances are virtually invisible.
Here at The Hampton Wick Dental Centre we offer the Invisalign® treatment.
Invisalign® uses a series of clear aligners that are custom-made to fit you. They are constructed using the latest advances in 3D technology. The virtually invisible aligners gradually reposition your teeth into a smile you’ll be proud of. Each set of aligners is worn on a full time basis, with the exception of eating, drinking and cleaning your teeth.
Invisalign® has been effective in giving hundreds of thousands of people amazing new smiles. Most people won’t notice you’re in treatment and it won’t disrupt your lifestyle. In addition, there are no metal wires or bands to irritate your mouth.
Benefits of Tooth Straightening Treatment
- Psychological benefits and increased confidence
- Reduce the risk of trauma or injury to protruded front teeth
- Easier to bite and chew food i.e. improved function
- Facilitate oral hygiene and avoid having to cope with food getting caught between the teeth
- Better long term health of teeth and gums
- Improved force distribution and wear patterns on the teeth
The time it takes to complete the treatment varies from person to person, depending on the complexity of each straightening issue. It is important to speak with your Invisalign Provider to determine how Invisalign best suits your situation and goals, and to agree the best way forward for you.
Over the course of treatment, you will be supplied with a series of aligners. Each aligner will make slight adjustments to tooth position, a process that is mapped out in advance by your doctor, specifically for your situation. When the aligners are placed on the teeth, they cause the teeth to gradually shift from their current position. After approximately two weeks, you will begin using the next set of aligners, which will continue the teeth straightening process.
Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible. No one may even notice that you're wearing them, making Invisalign a seamless fit with your lifestyle. Invisalign aligners are removable. For the best results and a timely outcome, aligners should be worn for 20 to 22 hours per day. However, unlike with braces, you have the flexibility to remove your aligners to eat and drink what you want during treatment. And you can also remove the aligners to brush and floss as you normally would, for fresh breath and good oral hygiene. There are no metal brackets or wires that could cause irritation to your mouth, an advantage over traditional braces. Plus, since your office visits during treatment don't involve metal or wire adjustments, you'll likely spend less time in the doctor's chair. Invisalign allows you to view your virtual results and treatment plan before you start so you can see how your straightened teeth will look when your treatment is complete. Instead of imagining how much better it can be, you'll be able to see it for yourself.
The best way to clean your aligners is to use the Invisalign Cleaning System, available for order at www.invisalignstore.com. As a secondary method, however, your aligners can also be cleaned by brushing them and rinsing them in lukewarm water.
“Invisalign has been amazing, the results have surpassed my expectations. Invisalign are truly invisible and do not make you self conscious at all, they are easy to undertake and do not disrupt your lifestyle.
Lama Brown and her team at the Hampton Wick Dental Centre were excellent, always friendly whilst maintaining a truly professional service. Several adjustments had to be made to my treatment plan and nothing was too much hassle.
The personable service and spectacular results truly have made the experience an enjoyable one. I consider it well worth the investment and would recommend the Invisalign treatment at this practice to anyone.
Thanks to all at Hampton Wick Dental Centre.”
“I had always been unhappy with my teeth. I had considered jaw surgery but decided against it in the end. The consultant, who advised me on the jaw surgery, suggested that Invisalign was an option that I should consider. My family have all had treatment at Hampton Wick Dental Centre and so it was the obvious place to go.
I had a consultation to see if Invisalign would work for me. A mould of my teeth was then sent off and when the results came back, I was very happy to see on the computer before anything was done, how much the Invisalign treatment could improve and straighten my teeth. I decided to go ahead.
The first few days of having the braces in, were slightly uncomfortable as my tongue had to readjust position. However after that, all the braces have been very comfortable. Of course when the changeover happens every two weeks, there is a certain amount of discomfort, but this goes within the first day, as your teeth become used to the constant changes.
My eating habits also changed in a good way, because needless snacking stopped. When a sweet or chocolate is offered to me, I think whether the one sweet is worth taking my braces out for!
Lama Brown and her team have been really helpful and accommodating throughout the process, and I would definitely recommend at the very least having a consultation there. All in all I have had a great experience with Invisalign and would recommend it to all who are thinking of having braces, mainly because they live up to their name, in that nobody notices you are wearing them!”
